Welcome to SnippyBlog

Hello, this Blog is dedicated to discussions about Snippy the Horse, the first reported Alien Animal Mutilation - or Unexplained Animal Death.

Her death occurred on Sept. 7th, 1967 at the base of Mt. Blanca in Colorado’s San Luis Valley.

I have never before seen pictures of Snippy’s complete skeleton and a fairly complete recounting of her mysterious death at www.Snippy.com.

I welcome any comments, questions, theories, or whatever.

Thanks for stopping by.

Your story is incorrect in naming the paper that broke the Snippy story. On Sept. 7, 1967 I was employed by the Valley Courier in Alamosa as receptionist and classified manager. Nellie Lewis contacted Kenneth Green (now deceased) early that morning and he immediately went to the site and took photographs. The Courier broke the story and it was picked up by the Chieftain and wire services. We received calls from all over the WORLD, not just the country, and shipped worldwide copies of the issue that contained the story and pictures for weeks afterward.

The “You made fark.com” post above refers to a link on Fark.com that links to the story the Rocky Mountain News did on Snippy.

Kenneth Green took the photos and Pearl Mallon Nicholas did the story. Nellie Lewis was a stringer for The Pueblo Chieftain and was let go because she didn't break the story of her horse's death.
